Every Knitter's Favourite Season....

Every Knitter's Favourite Season....

...knocking softly at the door.

It's only the end of August, but there's a gentle chill in the morning air. Summer's been a short and scrappy affair up here in Edinburgh, but there's a certain feeling of gratitude for the cooler air and the promise of lots of Necessary Knitting. This is traditionally the season where we all get geared up for a few months of long, dark evenings and plenty of excuses to stay indoors.

We are planners. We have lists. Our lists have lists...

(On that note, everything for EYF 2016 is going on behind the scenes — class timetables, marketplace layouts, not to mention all the 'extras' that make EYF special! You can sign up for our newsletter here if you haven't already done so — we send out everything you need to know.)

...Anyway, what's on our autumn 2015 knitting lists? It has been hard paring things down to a manageable amount of knitting. There are SO many great patterns, so many great yarns now, that we could all make beautiful things until the end of time and still not be done. (Good for us, right?) But it was a good exercise in focus!

And this is just for autumn. Knittery productivity goes down a bit in the first part of the year as we get to grip with the Festival planning — though you could argue that we need it more as a calming therapy then!

We'd love to see what you're planning - especially if you're using (up) yarn you bought at EYF 2015. We're on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram (links below) and you can always leave a comment here too.

Stay warm this autumn!

xxMica & Jo
