The weekend after next will see Edinburgh's first Yarn Crawl happening! Will we see you out and about?
Here's what the organisers says about the event:
Indie Burgh Yarn Crawl is Edinburgh's first official yarn crawl, happening on Saturday, 21 June 2014. Jessica, the organizer and owner of Ginger Twist Studio plans to make this a yearly event that will continue to grow organically. All yarn shop owners involved (Jess of Ginger Twist Studio, Cathy of Kathy's Knits and Mei of Be Inspired Fibres) are super excited about the upcoming event. All three shops can freely collaborate and work together, as they all specialize in different types of wool and fibre.
If you are not familiar with the concept of a yarn crawl, think of it like a pub crawl...but with yarn shops (alcohol to be consumed at the after-party). You can pick your own route and start time, and go around at your leisure. Make a day of it! Why not go for lunch or a coffee in-between shop stops? If you would like a bit of guidance and are interested in meeting some new crafty pals, sign up for a lucky dip group. Just email your name, mobile number, and preferred start time (late morn or early afternoon) to firstname.lastname@example.org
You will the be notified where and when you should meet your group and guide.
At each shop you will get your passport validated. There will also be the option to enter the raffle at each shop. There is a fabulous collection of prizes available of donations from the yarny shops, as well as some local designers. And if that is not enough, there will be wee freebies and goodies available to all participants on the day. Don't miss the knitty event of the season!
Indie Burgh Yarn crawl also has a Ravelry group that you can join for info and updates. The after-party will be at the Safari-Lounge on Cadzow Place, not far from Ginger Twist Studio.
