This is the 6th Edinburgh Yarn Festival, hosted in the Edinburgh Corn Exchange, a historic venue with modern conveniences. With a sharp focus on hand-knitting, but with a little crochet, spinning, weaving and felting thrown in for good measure, there will be something of interest for all yarn and textile enthusiasts!
Hand-picked exhibitors from all over the UK and beyond are invited to show off and sell the most luxurious and interesting products and supplies the Yarn and Knitting Industry has to offer. Come and join us!

John started his Mill (John Arbon Textiles) eighteen years ago with a few vintage machines he rescued and lovingly revamped. Using traditional methods they produce fine quality yarns and tops, spun from carefully sourced luxury breed specific fibres,  in the heart of North Devon.

Should you travel to EYF without an advance ticket?
For visitors who have not been able to purchase an advance ticket, we thought it would be helpful to share a summary of the experience of ‘at the door’ admission from last year - EYF 2018:
As per last year, tickets for Friday and Saturday will be available at the door. In a change from last year we will open the ticket-office on Thursday from 13.00 to enable folks to buy tickets at the door.
In 2018, everybody who wanted to get in was admitted.
Over half of the visitors didn’t have an advance ticket, and still, everybody who was prepared to be a bit patient got admitted.

How long will it take to get in?

Will there be a queue for admission without an advance ticket? Yes, we fully expect that, however, we always have 2 queues and are working as quickly as we can. Thursdays and Fridays are anticipated to FEEL busier than Saturday due to a lot of visitors wanting to come first thing. On the Saturday, there was virtually no wait because people were more relaxed and arrived throughout the morning and in terms of visitor numbers it was our busiest day!
We hope that you understand that we are unable to predict how many visitors without an advance ticket are planning to come, and on which day, and therefore we cannot provide accurate predictions of possible waiting times.
We hope this helps!
