Here is the next 60 second interview: Alpaca Loft. When did you start knitting/spinning/crocheting?
I can't really remember, I was very little, and always, knitting, making and doing!! Mum always kept her old washed tights as I was always making things and stuffing them and the kapok was too expensive, so I used tights!!
What was your first knitting/spinning/crochet project?
I knitted a yellow teddy bear with a square head!!
Can you show us some of the products you'll be bringing to the festival?
What product/pattern are you most proud of?
I'm just a fledgling business, so "Alpaca Loft" is evolving, I have so many ideas, I'm excited about what might transpire!!!
How many WIPS have you got?
Lots and lots of bits and pieces going on, simply not enough "play"hours in the day
Do you use Ravelry?
Yes, love Ravelry
Have you got a favourite pattern desiger and why?
We've been working with Scottish Knitwear designer, Jo Storie, I've attached one of her designs which she has developed using our Baby alpaca yarn. Patterns are fab and available on her website: www.jostorie.com.
What's on your needles/hook/spindle right now?
I'm knitting a cabled dress/tunic in charcoal alpaca yarn, I'm so close to finishing it!
If you had to pick just one kind of yarn to knit with/ tool to work with / fibre to spin for the rest of your life what would it be?
A bit biased here…got to be alpaca, an amazing product.
