We hope you’re all coming out today to support your LYS! One of us will be on the way to Tucson/AZ (I’m not bitter), while the other half will certainly go on a little shopping round.
Here a little round up of what to expect from our local yarn shops:
Be Inspired Fibres: Luxurious yarns
Mei stocks some more unusual yarn brands like Lotus, Habu and Ito, but also Malabrigo, Cascade, Fyberspates, Istex Lopi, Holst Garn and Artesano.
Open tomorrow from 10am -5.30pm
Where to rest your tired feed?
Peter's Yard on the Meadow Walk is the best nearest destination.
Ginger Twist Studio: Vintage Knitter's Haven
Unique hand-dyed yarns and great selection of UK favourites like Excelana, John Arbon, West Yorkshire Spinners, King Cole merino 4-ply in a quirky setting with your ever cheery host Jess.
Open tomorrow from 11am - 5pm.
Refreshments anyone? Check out The Manna House. Fantastic baking and great coffee.
We've introduced you in our last post to Jo Avery of my Bearpaw already and while it's not an yarn store as such, Jo has a great selection of yarns and it's worth a visit. Have lunch at the Purple Pig!
A little further afield:
The Woolly Brew in Pittenweem is a firm favourite and Karen and Fiona are guaranteed to give you a warm welcome. Stock include Lang, Jamieson's of Shetland, Louisa Harding, Manos del Uruguay and Debbie Bliss amongst others.
The Yarn Cake in Glasgow's West End is a great destination. Antje has a fab selection of yarns, including Drops, New Lanark and a selection of hand dyed yarns. Did we mention the cake? It's worth a visit just for that!
Fluph in Dundee is owned and run by Leona. We have not been yet, but the shop looks lovely she's hot some great stock like Zauberballs, Manos Algeria, Flying Saucers and Unicorn Yarns. Plus, she's got the cutest spaniel!
Maybe I'll see you somewhere along the road? I'm currently knitting a pink sleeve for my Bedford sweater so you can't miss me :-)
