This specialist darning class teaches you how to repair holes that are too large for the regular stocking darn. You will be taught two techniques: the first is the web darn, which starts with laying down a foundation in sewing thread and then the stitches are replicated using a darning needle. The second one is knitting in a patch, with various options on how to attach the patch to the edges of the hole. Attendees will take home a comprehensive hand-out, a darning needle, and the skills to repair large holes.
Level: Intermediate and above
Skills needed: Participants will need to be able to do Swiss darning (also known as duplicate stitching) and to be able to knit and purl, pick up stitches, and make left and right-leaning single decreases.

Any "homework"?: Students will need to knit a swatch, yarn type, colour, and size to be specified. Details will be sent out in January. Please be sure that you have some knowledge of Swiss darning/duplicate stitching.
