Molla Mills - Optical Illusion Crochet

Crochet a three-color Lato pattern with a thick cotton yarn using a single crochet stitch and an optical crochet technique. In the 3-hour workshop you will learn how to carry the yarns inside the stitch, how to change the color of the yarn and how to create a single crochet pattern with straight vertical lines. 
The optical crochet technique is inspired by Latin American women from Wayuu tribe, who make the beautiful crocheted Mochila bags. After this workshop a student has the expertise to crochet different colorful patterns.

Level: Advanced

Skills needed: Basic crochet skills, how to hold several yarns in the hand while working, how to make a single crochet stitch.

Materials to bring: Chunky cotton such as Schachenmayr Catania Grande, mercerized 50 g yarn roll, thickness 8-10-ply aran. Students need three colors of the yarn: one dark color, one light color and one secondary color to create the optical pattern. 
Crochet hook fitting with the thickness of the yarn. If using Catania Grande the hook is 3.5mm.
Other yarn options are Rico, Creative Cotton Aran or Yarn and Colors, Epic cotton yarn.

Tom van Deijnen - Darning Masterclass

Learn to darn with Tom van Deijnen, aka tomofholland. Best known for his Visible Mending Programme, he will teach you two darning techniques (Swiss darning and stocking darning.) Tom will also bring along his darning showcase for plenty of inspiration, and talk about why darning and repairing clothes is important to him. You'll take home a comprehensive hand-out, two darning needles, and the skills to tackle any holey sock or thinning elbow, and be able to wear a beautiful darn as a badge of honour. All practice materials provided.

Level: beginners and beyond

Skills needed: No previous darning or knitting experience is needed.

Materials to bring: Although practice swatches, tools and materials are provided, participants are encouraged to bring along knitwear that requires repair.

Molla Mills - Three-Colour Crochet Pouch

Crochet a 3-color Kirsikka pattern with leftover yarns. In the 3-hour workshop you will learn how to make a double crochet stitch carrying the two other yarns inside the stitch, how to crochet a popcorn stitch and how to change the color of the yarn to create clean lines in the pattern.

Level: Beginner onwards

Skills needed: Basic crochet skills, a student will learn everything we need in the workshop.

Materials to bring: In this workshop you can use any leftover yarns. Choose three colors with the similar thickness, it can be DK or thinner. You will need 100 g for the base color (white), 30 g for the cherries (red) and 30 g for the stem (black). 
Crochet hook suitable for the yarn.
