Learn about knitting fair isle yokes by studying examples, and practise knitting a section of yoke to learn about the shaping. Hazel’s handout gives information to design your own yoked jumper.
Skills needed: Knitting in the round
Materials to bring: 3mm needles - 4 double pointed or circular; tapestry needle, scissors, notebook, pencil, camera.
Any “homework”?: Please bring to the class: one single colour piece of stocking stitch, 50 stitches x 4 rows of K1, P1 rib, then 1 knit row, in jumper weight yarn on 3mm needles (do not cast off the stitches). You will need 3 or 4 double pointed needles or 1 circular needle.
Practise knitting with two colours in a round/row - not essential but useful.
