Olga Buraya-Kefelian - Modular Knitting with Negative Space

In this class you will learn the technique for working knit fabric modular style while creating negative spaces without breaking of the yarn or working intarsia. You will practice a variety of negative space shapes while swatching, while considering possibilities for use of this method in knitwear or creating the Ten-Ten Wrap.

Level: Intermediate

Skills needed: need to know how to cast on, bind off, knit, purl, decrease, increase

Materials to bring: For swatching:
100-200yds of Sport weight or DK weight yarn for swatching
Needle: US 3 (3.25 mm) and US 4 (3. 5 mm) circular or straight
Notions: 
Removable stitch marker or a pin
For Ten-Ten wrap:
Yarn: 1600 yds of fingering weight 
Needle: US 4 (3.5 mm) circular needle, 24-36"
Notions: 
Crochet hook D (3.25 mm) or E (3.5 mm)
Removable stitch marker or a pin
Pattern for Ten-Ten Wrap will be provided in printed form only.
