Fancy getting together over some great sharing food, a couple of drinks and a blether (= chatting!) about yarn...?
It's one of the things that we most love to do and we know that for many of our visitors spending time with other knitters is one of the most important things of coming to EYF. During the day the temptations of the marketplace make it difficult to relax when all that yarn beckons, but wouldn't it be fun to spend time with other knitters and talk about your WIPs and possibly purchases?
In previous years we've organised a knit-night at a rather large local bar, but the demand for an evening of socialising has been so great that we decided to make use of our purpose built marquee for the occasion and only use the previous venue as an overflow option*.
It's going to be perhaps the biggest knit night you've ever attended, and we are aiming for the most convivial!
Share food, knit, chat, get you picture taken in the TOFT Photo Booth and get your Ravelry badge!
We don't know about you, but Ravelry holds a very special place in our hearts for many, many reasons. A whole new world of knitting opened up in front of us when we first signed up and we made many friends through conversations in the forums. Not a day goes by without at least a quick check-in for a chat or a browse for new pattern inspiration.
This great platform helped us spread the word about our first event and it continues to help us stay in touch with many of you now. We simply love Ravelry and we don't think EYF would have happened without it!
That's why we are particularly excited about a very special guest for that evening:
Jessica Marshall Forbes, one of Ravelry's founders, will join us!
Jess will be there with enough Ravelry badges for every knitter on the night. Say hello and pick up your Ravelry badge! A bunch of sharpies will be available to personalise yours, enabling you to use it straight away!
Come and join us: let's get together and KNIT and CROCHET!
*2 smaller events will be organised off site (one for Wednesday, one overflow event on the Thursday in a separate location - details to be released on Monday, 12th February - make sure you're on our mailing list if you want to know more)
