There has been a huge upsurge in the availability of gradient yarns, kits, and mini-skein sets. They all look so beautiful lined up in the skein that you want to make sure you knit them in a pattern that does the yarn justice!
In this class, we’ll look at the different types of gradients available, including single skein graduated sets with both long and short colour runs, individual mini-skeins sets, and of course your own assembled gradient sets. We’ll discuss the types of stitch patterns that gradients work well with, learn skills for blending or stepping colours, and explore the effects of combining gradients with solid colours. Join me for an exciting exploration of gradient yarns!
Skills focus: Swatching with gradient colour to use stripes and pattern stitches to blend or contrast colours.
Skills needed: Basic knitting and pattern reading skills
Materials to bring: Mini-skeins of gradient colours (at least 5 mini-skeins) with matching needle/s.
