This workshop is all about breaking the rules and going free form with your crochet. Learn the basics of this technique and build your confidence mixing up stitches, colour and texture as you go. Dip into a variety of free form techniques, organic, open lace, patchwork taking your crochet on an adventure and develop your own fabric design.
Participants can bring a source of inspiration with them on the day and use this as a starting point for your colour palette or shapes and textures.
Skills focus: A great way to improve basic crochet skills and how the stitches work together.
How to change colour in the middle of a row
Increasing and decreasing
Adding textured stitches
Skills needed: How to work a crochet chain and double crochet stitch a minimum requirement.
Working knowledge of crochet stitches would be ideal.
Materials to bring: Scraps of left over DK and 4 ply yarn - the more the better ( can take colours from source of inspiration)
1 x 3 mm & 4 mm crochet hook
Sewing up needle
Notebook and pencil / pen
If people are unsure about colours to bring, they can work from a source of inspiration, postcard, fabric, magazine or pinterest.
Also to ease people in gently they can use this image as starting point of design.
I'll have extra images and can share inspiration / mood boards with people online.
