for Sale of tickets to visitors

Please read and understand the following terms and conditions as they are binding for all ticket and product purchases from Edinburgh Yarn Company Ltd. The terms "you", "your", "visitor" and "ticket-holder" refer to any person who has been issued with a ticket for Edinburgh Yarn Festival 2019, whether through purchase or as a promotional prize. The term "the organiser" refers to Edinburgh Yarn Company Ltd. The term "the venue" refers to the Edinburgh Corn Exchange.

  1. General admission and fringe event tickets are sold exclusively through Edinburgh Yarn Company Ltd.

  2. Ticket terms and conditions apply to both purchased and free tickets received through promotional activities of Edinburgh Yarn Company Ltd. or any affiliated entities.

  3. Wristbands will be issued on the weekend of the event at the ticket-office at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange (and in addition potentially at other collection locations - details, dates and times will be added to the "Ticket" section of the website) in return for a printed paper copy of the ticket receipt. It is the ticket holder's responsibility to bring the ticket receipt to the box-office and to ensure that the correct wristband is received for the ticket type purchased.

  4. Different coloured wristbands will be issued for admission, depending on purchased ticket type. Wristbands will be checked on entering/re-entering the Edinburgh Yarn Festival venue.

  5. Multiple tickets purchased must be exchanged for wristbands in one transaction at the ticket-office (or other declared collection point) by the person who has purchased the tickets on behalf of others. The purchaser will then be responsible for passing on wristbands to each member of their party prior to accessing the venue.

  6. Tickets will never be sent by post. Tickets are only sent by email in form of an e-ticket. Ticket holders must collect wristbands in person on the day of the event at the venue's ticket-office at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange (or in addition at potentially other collection locations - details, dates and times will be added to the "Ticket" section of the website prior to the event).

  7. General Admission to the festival on Thursday, 21st March 2019 will be with advance ticket only until 1 pm when the ticket office opens.

  8. Tickets can be purchased in advance online or at the venue on/for Thursday 21st March (from 1pm at the venue), 22nd March on/for Friday, 22nd March (from 11am at the venue) and on/for Saturday 23rd March 2019 (from 11am at the venue). Tickets for Sunday (MAKE::WOOL) will only be available for advance online purchase and not available at the door. Access to the venue will be subject to real-time assessments of visitor levels, which will be continuously monitored by the venue management.

  9. Concessions and group discounts are not available.

  10. Children under and up to the age of 15 go free and must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times. Children under 16 will go free: proof of age will be required on arrival at the venue.

  11. The venue of the Edinburgh Yarn Festival 2019 is the Edinburgh Corn Exchange. The venue is accessible but may require wheelchair users or visitors unable to manage a small number of stairs to use a separate entrance to get into all parts of the building. For any specific access queries, please contact the Corn Exchange directly.

  12. Information for disabled visitors will be available at the Edinburgh Yarn Company Ltd. Information point in the central Concourse section of the building.

  13. The resale of tickets is prohibited. Edinburgh Yarn Company Ltd. reserves the right to cancel any tickets that have been resold.

  14. Every electronic ticket receipt has a unique number and will be logged as "admitted" in our ticket database on entry to the venue. The organiser reserves the right to pursue prosecution for attempted fraudulent activity.

  15. Tickets are not transferable, and may not be re-sold.

  16. Refunds:
    a) Advance ticket purchases:
    General Admission Tickets and Tickets for Fringe Events are not refundable.
    Should it become necessary to cancel or reschedule the event, conditions will apply as follows:
    Cancellation: If the event is cancelled (and not rescheduled), you will be offered a refund of the sale price of your ticket(s). If an event takes place over several days and one or more day(s) is/are cancelled (but not all the days constituting the event), a partial refund only may be payable corresponding to the day(s) cancelled. 
    Rescheduling: If the event is rescheduled, you will be offered tickets at any rescheduled event (subject to availability) of a value corresponding with your original tickets. If you are unable to attend the rescheduled event, you will be offered a refund of the sale price of your ticket(s). You must inform the Organiser within the time specified by the Organiser if you are unable to attend the rescheduled event, otherwise we will reconfirm your booking for the rescheduled date and you will not be entitled to claim a refund. 
    b) Tickets purchased on the day(s) of the event
    General Admission Tickets purchased on the day of the event cannot be exchanged or refunded after purchase.

  17. It is the ticket-holder's responsibility to ascertain whether the event has been cancelled or postponed. In the unlikely circumstance that this becomes necessary, notice will be posted on the Edinburgh Yarn Festival website. In addition, we will use reasonable endeavours to notify you by email of cancellation or postponement, but we do not guarantee that you will be informed of such cancellation or postponement before the date of the event. Please note, tickets are sold subject to the retained right of Edinburgh Yarn Company Limited to alter or vary the event due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, without being obliged to refund monies or exchange tickets.

  18. Personal arrangements including travel, accommodation, hospitality or other costs relating to the Event which have been arranged by you are at your own risk. Neither Edinburgh Yarn Company Limited nor Edinburgh Corn Exchange will be liable to you for any loss of enjoyment or wasted expenditure. The liability of Edinburgh Yarn Company Limited to you in connection with the event (including, but not limited to, for any cancellation of, change to, or rescheduling of the event) and the ticket(s) you have purchased, shall be limited to the price paid by you for the ticket(s).

  19. Venue Owner and Organiser reserve the right to refuse admission or to eject customers in reasonable circumstances (for example taking health and safety, environmental and security concerns, or breach of terms and conditions into account).

  20. Safe Management of the Venue: The venue security staff may at any point decide to temporarily restrict access to the venue, or certain areas within the venue, to avoid risk of overcrowding. In order to enable safe operation of the venue and full enjoyment of the event for all, Visitors agree to comply with requests of venue security staff.

  21. Photography, audio or video recording will be permitted in the venue, provided that the materials will only be used for private/personal purposes. All recordings in any medium captured at the event shall not be used to promote any business or 3rd party other than Edinburgh Yarn Company Ltd, unless prior written consent has been granted.

  22. Flash photography is not permitted in the venue unless prior written permission has been granted.

  23. Talks or classes may not be recorded (audio or video). Photographs may only be taken if prior consent by the presenter has been granted.

  24. Content of books or teaching materials and other proprietary material shown at the event may not be photographed and/or published.

  25. Edinburgh Yarn Company Ltd. commissions audio, video and photographic material of the event for promotional and marketing purposes. Edinburgh Yarn Company Ltd. may use the ticket holder's image or likeness in any live or recorded video display, photograph or picture. Ticket holders consent to their visit being recorded by audio, video and/or photographic footage, and agree that all intellectual property rights related to such media captured during the event will vest wholly and exclusively in Edinburgh Yarn Company Limited in perpetuity, and that the ticket holder unconditionally assigns all intellectual property rights to Edinburgh Yarn Company Limited on consideration of the Ticket Holder's access to and participation in the event.

  26. Unauthorised distribution of flyers or other promotional material for products, services or events, not related to EYF is not permitted. Distributors of such material will be asked to leave the premises immediately without refund of ticket costs.

  27. Unauthorised promotional activities of any kind are not permitted. This includes product demos and sample distribution by visitors not related to an exhibitor. Unauthorised promoters will be asked to leave the premises immediately without refund of ticket costs.

  28. Information is collected from ticket buyers in order to send emails directly relating to Edinburgh Yarn Festival or any events created by Edinburgh Yarn Company Ltd. This information is collected and used in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these conditions.

  29. Dogs and other animals are not allowed in the Edinburgh Yarn Festival venue, except guide-dogs.

  30. These Terms & Conditions of purchase do not and shall not affect your statutory rights as a consumer. For further information about your statutory rights contact Citizens Advice or the Department for Business Innovation and Skills.

This privacy policy applies to information collected through our website, Edinburgh Yarn Company Ltd. activities and authorised outlets and forms part of our General Terms and Conditions.

However, non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses.
