Edinburgh Yarn Festival is the UK's Premier Contemporary Hand-Knitting Show
Edinburgh Corn Exchange is situated to the south west of the city centre, very near the junction between Slateford Road and Chesser Avenue. Some of our classes will be held in 2 other venues, close to the main venue, between 5 and 15 mins' walk (no steps).
Edinburgh International Airport Destinations/Airlines - great transport links and the journey time to the city centre is approx. 30 mins by tram or Airlink Bus (number 100). The Skylink 300 (the old 35, a.k.a. "The Knitters' Bus") actually connects the airport and the venue direct, so it's feasible to fly in for the day :)
The nearest main line station is Edinburgh Haymarket. The same buses go from outside both Edinburgh Waverley (Princes St) and Haymarket Stations. (see BY BUS)
For those coming from Glasgow, the train from Glasgow Central stops at Slateford Station, which is a 2 minute walk from the venue. Please check ScotRail for details. (Note that Slateford Station is unstaffed and access is via stairs.)
Lothian Buses is Edinburgh's main bus operator and the Skylink 300 as well as the reinstated No. 35 stop very close to the Corn Exchange at Slateford Station. The 35 runs right through the city from the north east, up the Royal mile, and out to the airport. (Note this is a tiny change in route from previous years: the stop directly outside the Corn Exchange is no more!) Additionally, from Princes St or Haymarket, you can take the 4, 34, 44 or 44A to Slateford Station, 2 or 3 minutes' walk from the venue. Check the Lothian Buses website for full time tables.
BY COACH: You can also travel by coach to Edinburgh City Centre and choose one of the local transport options to get to the venue. The Bus Station is located at St Andrews Square in the heart of the city, allowing quick access to local buses and trains.
The postcode for the Corn Exchange is EH14 1RJ. Car parking at the Corn Exchange is extremely limited due to the expansion of the event and may be restricted. Free on-street parking is available within walking distance. We highly recommend using public transport to get to the festival.
Edinburgh Central Taxis provides a reliable taxi service with booking facilities via their smart phone app, phone or online.
City Cabs provides a similar service.
